Das Werk des großen Baumeisters Scamozzi (1552-1616), dessen Theorie noch in der italienischen Renaissance wurzelt, wurde zum Grundlagenwerk vieler Architektengenerationen. Das Titelkupfer dieser deutschen Übersetzung, gestochen von Sigmund Gabriel Hipschmann stammt aus der in Venedig erschienenen Erstausgabe von 1615. Die Kupfer zeigen Säulenordnungen, Portale, Paläste, Fassaden, Mauern u. Grundrissen. - Titelseite und wenige Bll. fachmännisch restauriert, sonst gutes und sauberes Exemplar des wichtigen Werkes.

The work of the great master builder Scamozzi (1552-1616), whose theory is still rooted in the Italian Renaissance, became the fundamental work of many generations of architects. The title engraving of this German translation, engraved by Sigmund Gabriel Hipschmann, is from the first edition published in Venice in 1615. The engravings show column orders, portals, palaces, facades, walls and ground plans. - Title page and a few pages professionally restored, otherwise a good and clean copy of this important work.
