Architektur – Der erste Band von Ludwig Puttrichs Werk zur sächsichen Architektur des Mittelalters. Es war das Hauptwerk des deutschen Rechtsanwalts, welches ihm Ruhm als Kunsthistoriker verschaffte. Er wurde hierbei von dem Illustrator Gottlieb Wilheim Geyser unterstützt. - Die zahlreichen Tafeln zeigen Ansichten, Innenansichten und Details der beschriebenen Bauten. Der erste Band behandelt die Schlosskirche zu Wechselburg, die Pforte der Domkirche zu Freiberg, Bauten in den Anhalt'schen Landen, sowie der Schwarzburg'schen Landen. - Teils stark stockfleckig. Insgesamt gut erhalten mit kontrastreichen Tafeln.

Leather with gold-stamped title (leather bleached, slightly rubbed). - The first volume of Ludwig Puttrich's work on medieval Saxon architecture. It was the German lawyer's major work, which brought him fame as an art historian. He was assisted in this work by the illustrator Gottlieb Wilhelm Geyser. - The numerous plates show views, interiors, and details of the buildings described. The first volume deals with the castle church at Wechselburg, the gate of the cathedral church at Freiberg, buildings in the Anhalt region, and the Schwarzburg region. - Partly heavily foxed. Overall well preserved with high-contrast plates.
