Lot 172 Fritz Winter. o.T. (abstrakte Komposition). …

o.T. (abstrakte Komposition). 1950. Mischtechnik mit Öl auf dünnem Karton. 25,5 x 39,2 cm. Monogrammiert und datiert. In Punkten freistehend in Passepartout montiert. Insgesamt gut erhalten.

Informel – Provenienz: Sammlung Kurt Leohnhard.

Informel – Mixed media with oil on thin cardboard paper. Monogrammed and dated. Spot mounted freestanding in mat. - With light surface dusting, the corners and edges somewhat rubbed and bumped. Overall in well preserved condition. - Provenance: Collection of the German art historian and poet Kurt Leonhard. - In the early 1950s, Fritz Winter consistently developed his drawing work in the direction of abstraction and informal painting. Framed by a reddish-brown frame, Winter dispenses with strict geometry and instead prefers an organic, rhythmic line which he modulates in white against the black background. The composition thus has a dynamic and exciting effect and combines his pictorial idea with tachist concepts of lyrical abstraction. The aim of Winter's drawings in the early 1950s was to make the "hidden elementary forces and structures of nature" visible.
