Sammlung von 93 farbigen Kupferstichen aus Phytanthoza-Iconographia. Um 1742. Teils mit Handkolorierung. Blattmaße je ca. 38 x 23,5 cm. Überwiegend gebunden in Ldr. d. Zt., einige lose beiliegend (Einband mit großen Defekten und Fehlstellen).

Botanik

Naturwissenschaften – Überwiegend aus dem dritten Teil dieses Meilensteins der botanischen Buchillustration. Je mit Nummerierung und Titelei in der Platte. - Der Kupferstecher J.J. Haid druckte viele der Illustrationen in einer neuen, von dem Engländer Kirkall entwickelten Mezzotinto-Technik und fertigte so über 1000 Stiche an. Johann Wilhelm Weinmann (1683-1741) leitete eine berühmte Apotheke in Regensburg. Sein in vier Bänden zwischen 1737 und 1745 erschienenes Meisterwerk enthält über 4000 Arten und stellt eines der umfassendsten botanischen Nachschlagewerke des 18. Jahrhunderts dar. - Etwas gebräunt und teils fleckig. Teils mit leichten Randläsuren, einige mit teils hinterlegten Einrissen. Die Handkolorierungen teils verwischt. Farben in gutem Zustand.

Natural Sciences – Botany - Collection of 93 coloured copper engravings from Phytanthoza-Iconographia. Partly with hand-colouring. Mostly bound in cont. leather, some loose (binding with large defects and losses). - Mostly taken from the third part of this milestone of botanical book illustration. Each with numbering and title in the plate. - The engraver J.J. Haid printed many of the illustrations in a new mezzotint technique developed by the Englishman Kirkall and thus produced over 1000 engravings. Johann Wilhelm Weinmann (1683-1741) ran a famous pharmacy in Regensburg. His masterpiece, published in four volumes between 1737-1745, contains over 4000 species and is one of the most comprehensive botanical reference works of the 18th century. - Somewhat browned and partially stained. Some with marginal wear, some with tears, partially backed. The handcolouring partially with smudges. Colours well preserved.
