Zehntausend Bücher, auf jedem hockte ein Gespenst … Vom unwiderstehlichen Reiz einer Buchhandlung, von den Lockrufen eines Antiquariats und vom (Un-)Glück des Lesens

Dienstag, 13. Januar 2026, 19.30 Uhr,
Literaturhaus Stuttgart, Breitscheidstraße 4

Rainer Moritz is an author, literary critic and translator. He was director of the Literaturhaus Hamburg for twenty years. Above all, he is a man who has been fascinated by books of all kinds since childhood. He has written about this frequently, for example in Die schönsten Buchhandlungen Europas (The Most Beautiful Bookshops in Europe), Leseparadiese. Liebeserklärung an die Buchhandlung (Reading Paradises: A Declaration of Love to Bookshops) and Das Buch zum Buch (The Book About Books), and he will now be talking about this. His entertaining lecture recounts his most memorable experiences in bookshops and antiquarian bookshops, treasures he has unearthed, strange ghosts sitting on books, and, last but not least, the very special people who, to this day, are not afraid to run a bookshop or an antiquarian bookshop.A joint event organised by Antiquaria Ludwigsburg and the Stuttgart Antiquarian Book Fair in cooperation with the Literaturhaus Stuttgart.Admission: €14/€12/€7 Tickets available online at www.literaturhaus-stuttgart.de, at reservix advance booking offices (0761-888 499 99) and at the bookshop & Büchergilde in the Literaturhaus.
