Als Nietzsche das Werk 1878 an Wagner sandte, reagierte dieser tief gekränkt und verstört, da er den inneren Verlust seines Jüngers spürte - was kurz darauf zum endgültigen persönlichen Bruch führte. - Bd. 1 erste Bll. mit kleinem Braunfleck am Oberrand, Name auf Titel, insgesamt gutes Exemplar.

In the future, metaphysical explanations will be replaced by scientific ones as soon as the latter have explained the true nature of religion, art, and morality. Nietzsche also criticizes faith in language. When he sent the work to Wagner in 1878, Wagner reacted with deep hurt and distress, as he sensed the inner loss of his disciple-which led shortly thereafter to a definitive personal rift. - Original half-leather bindings (slightly rubbed, upper joint of Vol. 1 has a small tear and a minor flaw). - Vol. 1, first few pages with a small brown stain on the top margin, overall, a good copy.
