Diebe, Räuber, Mörder
Literatur des 17. bis 19. Jahrhunderts – Vierte Auflage, selten.
Literature of 17th to 19th Century – Fourth edition, rare. - Not recorded in Holzmann-Bohatta, Hayn-Gotendorf, or others. - The two engraved plates show portraits of the villains. The life of the highwayman Cartouche served as the basis for a French swashbuckler film. An additional, extra engraved plate depicting an execution scene is bound in as a closing leaf. - This fourth edition differs from the earlier editions in that its engravings are reproduced in mirror image and in other aspects of its layout (text area, vignettes, initials). - Faded lodge stamp on the title page, in places slightly and inconspicuously water-stained, overall a very good copy.
