Geschichtswissenschaften – VD 17 3:005696R. - Das Werk wird nach Holzmann-Bohatta, Bd. 2, Nr. 11591 fälschlich Veit Ludwig von Seckendorff zugeschrieben, der die Verfasserschaft selbst zurückwies (vgl. Strauch, Solveig: Veit Ludwig von Seckendorff (1626-1692), S. 1). Bedeutendes staatsrechtliches Grundlagenwerk des Frankenberger Gelehrten und kursächsischen Geheimrats Veit Ludwig von Seckendorff über Verfassung und Regierung des Heiligen Römischen Reiches Deutscher Nation. Das Werk behandelt sowohl den allgemeinen Zustand des Reiches und seiner Bewohner als auch die geistliche und weltliche Verfassung und Regierung eingehend und gilt als eines der wichtigsten Kompendien der frühneuzeitlichen deutschen Reichspublizistik. Die vorliegende Ausgabe von 1687 ist die zweite Auflage nach der Erstauflage von 1686 und enthält als Beigabe die zeitgenössisch gebräuchliche Reichsmatrikel sowie drei weitere Verzeichnisse zur Ergänzung des Hauptwerks. History – VD 17 3:005696R. - According to Holzmann-Bohatta, vol. 2, no. 11591, the work is erroneously attributed to Veit Ludwig von Seckendorff, who himself rejected authorship (cf. Strauch, Solveig: Veit Ludwig von Seckendorff (1626-1692), p. 1). An important foundational work of constitutional law by the Frankenberg scholar and Saxon-Electoral privy councillor Veit Ludwig von Seckendorff on the constitution and government of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation. The work treats in detail both the general condition of the Empire and its inhabitants and its ecclesiastical and secular constitution and government, and is regarded as one of the most important compendia of early modern German imperial public law. The present edition of 1687 is the second edition following the first edition of 1686, and includes as a supplement the Reichsmatrikel then in customary use, along with three further registers supplementing the main work. The volume is furnished with an engraved frontispiece and combines both parts of the work in a single volume. Bound with: Eitel Friedrich von Herden (i.e. Rudolph Heiden), Deß Heil. Röm.
