Rechtswissenschaften - Law books
Geschichtswissenschaften – Achte und letzte Auflage. - Stintzing/L. II, 15. Leicht braunfleckig.
History – The most influential legal reference work on the law of family entailments (hereditary estates). The book describes how noble family landholdings can be held undivided in a single family for generations (usually by the eldest son, under the principle of primogeniture) in order to secure the economic status and social power of the house. An important practical guide in which Knipschildt skillfully combined Roman law (from which the concept of the fideicommissum originated) with German feudal and customary law. - With 2 bookplates on the endpaper and inside cover: 2 bookplates: Caspar Sebastia. Aloysi. de Iaquemod and the coat of arms of the noble von Roekl family. Slightly brown-stained.
