Faksimile-Reprint der Ausgabe Paris, 1510 von Gillet Hardouyn. Mit Kommentarheft in ung. Sprache. Budapest, Helikon 1985. 4° Orangefarbener Samteinband mit versilberten Schließen und Eckbeschlägen (diese etwas oxidiert).

Buchwesen - Faksimileausgaben – Nummeriertes Exemplar der Vorzugsausgabe. Das Original entstand 1510 in der Werkstatt des angesehenen Pariser Buchdruckers und -händlers Gilles (Gillet) Hardouyn (1455-1529) und zählt zu den herausragenden Leistungen der frühen französischen Buchdruckkunst.Neben dem eigentlichen Stundengebet enthält es einen Kalender/Almanach für die Jahre 1510 bis 1530. Das 92-blättrige, großformatige Werk (Text in Latein und Französisch) ist geschmückt mit zahlreichen handkolorierten Holzschnitten - darunter 20 bis 21 ganzseitige Miniaturen sowie unzählige kleinere Initialminiaturen und reich verzierte, historisierte Bordüren mit biblischen Szenen und Heilsgeschichte. Inhaltlich umfasst es Evangeliensequenzen, die Marienhoren, die Kreuzhoren, die Horen des Heiligen Geistes, die Bußpsalmen, die Allerheiligenlitanei sowie diverse Gebete und Suffragien. Seit 1929 gehört das Original zu den wertvollen Beständen der Bibliothek der Ungarischen Akademie der Wissenschaften in Budapest (Signatur Ant.76). - Gutes Exemplar.

Books on Books - Facsimile Editions – With 21 full-page miniatures and numerous intimate miniatures and rich borders and vine work. Numbered copy of the special edition of the Book of Hours. A numbered copy of the special edition. The original was produced in 1510 in the workshop of the renowned Parisian printer and bookseller Gilles (Gillet) Hardouyn (1455-1529) and is considered one of the outstanding achievements of early French book printing. In addition to the Book of Hours itself, it contains a calendar/almanac covering the years 1510 through 1530. The 92-leaf, large-format work (text in Latin and French) is adorned with numerous hand-colored woodcuts-including 20 to 21 full-page miniatures as well as countless smaller initial miniatures and richly decorated, historicized borders featuring biblical scenes and the history of salvation. In terms of content, it includes Gospel sequences, the Hours of the Virgin Mary, the Hours of the Cross, the Hours of the Holy Spirit, the Penitential Psalms, the Litany of All Saints, as well as various prayers and suffrages. Since 1929, the original has been part of the valuable holdings of the Library of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Budapest (call number Ant.76).-A fine copy.
