Photographie - Photographen – Erste Ausgabe. - Goedeke III, 203. - Die erste und zugleich ausführlichste Biographie des Begründers der Herrnhuter sowie bedeutende Quelle zur Geschichte der Hernhuter Brüdergemeine. - Spangenberg war engster Mitarbeiter und Nachfolger Zinzendorfs als Bischof der Brüdergemeine und Organisator der Unitats-Provinzen in Nordamerika und England. Zinzendorf nannte ihn den "Theologus unitatis". - "Includes accounts of Count Zinzendorf's visit to St. Thomas, W.I., New York, and Pennsylvania" (Sabin 88931). - Je mit Wappen-Exlibris von Auguste Erbgroßherzogin von Mecklenburg-Schwerin geb. Prinzessin von Hessen-Homburg. - Vord. Vorsätze tls. mit Marginalien, ausgeschiedenes Exemplar der LB Schwerin mit Stempeln, insg. gut erhalten.

Photography – First edition. 8 parts and index in 6 volumes. With an engraved frontispiece portrait. Contem. cardboard with ms. title to spine (stained, browned, rubbed and bumped). - The first and, at the same time, most comprehensive biography of the founder of the Moravian Church, as well as an important source on the history of the Moravian Church. - Spangenberg was Zinzendorf's closest collaborator and successor as bishop of the Moravian Church, and the organiser of the Unitas provinces in North America and England. Zinzendorf called him the 'Theologus unitatis'. - 'Includes accounts of Count Zinzendorf's visit to St Thomas, W.I., New York, and Pennsylvania' (Sabin 88931). - Each with a coat-of-arms bookplate of Auguste, Grand Duchess of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (née Princess of Hesse-Homburg). - Front endpapers partly with marginal notes, a deaccessioned copy from Schwerin Public Library with stamps, overall good condition.
