Bilderbuch für Kinder, enthaltend eine angenehme Sammlung von Tieren, Pflanzen, Blumen, Früchten, Mineralien, Trachten ... mit einer kurzen wissenschaftlichenen, und den Verstandes-Kräften eines Kindes angemessenen Erklärung begleitet. Bände 6 und 8-10 (von 12). Mit 315 (von 400) meist altkolorierten Kupfertafeln, worauf insgesamt über 1500 Darstellungen, sowie 323 (von 400) Textblättern. Weimar, Industrie-Comptoir, 1807, 1813, 1816 und 1821. Ca. 640 S. (inkl. Tit. u. Inhaltsverz.) Lex-8°. Pbde. d. Zt. mit hs. RTit. auf Papierschildern, die Deckel bezogen mit geädertem Kleisterpapier (Vorsätze erneuert, an den Kanten, Ecken und Gelenken bestoßen, stw. beschabt).

Erläuterungen. - Kollation: Bd. 6: 47 (von 100) Taf. und Textbll., fehlen Taf. und Textbll. 1-50, 54, 57 und 97 sowie Titelbl. - Bd. 8: 97 (von 100) Taf. und Textbll., fehlen die Taf. und Textbll. 30, 43 und 46. - Bd. 9: 86 (von 100) Taf. und 85 (von 100) Textbll., fehlen Taf. und Textbl. 3, 51-60, 70, 89 und 90 sowie Taf. 61. - Bd. 10: 85 (von 100) Taf. und 94 (von 100) Textbl., fehlen Taf. 17, 21, 29, 31-35, 54, 56, 59-60, 69, 74 und 95 sowie Textbll. 29, 31-35. - Dabei, Bd. 10 nachgebunden: Bd. 11: Taf. und Textbll. 1-5. - Provenienz: Naturverein zu Riga, mit den (gelöschten) Stempeln dieser Institution auf dem Titelbl. - Taf. u. Textbl. 37 sowie Taf. 38 von Bd. 8 stark fleckig. Die Kupfer in den Rändern teils eng beschnitten. Teils leicht gebräunt, stellenweise leicht finger-, stock- und schmutzfleckig. Vorsätze mit Bibliothekssiglen. Insgesamt gut erhaltene Exemplare, die sorgfältig unter der Leitung von H. Lips gestochenen Kupfer von gediegenem künstlerischen Wert meist in satter, kräftiger und frischer Koloratur.

Childrens Books – A substantial partial collection of what is probably the most famous visual encyclopeadia for children of its time, Containing 315 (out of 400) copper engraved plates of fine hand-colouring and featuring a total of over 1,500 illustrations, as well as 323 (out of 400) text pages. - Bound in contemporary cardboard binding with a handwritten title on the spine on a paper label, the boards are covered with veined paste paper (endpapers replaced, scuffed at the edges, corners and joints, and worn in places). - For references and detailed collation see above. - Volumes 8-11 also contain title pages in French. The text pages bound between the plates have German on the recto and French on the verso, in volume 6, from plate 71 onwards, two pages feature English on the recto and Italian on the verso. - With: Vol. 11: plates and text leaves 1-5, bound after vol. 10. - Provenance: Riga Natural History Society, with the (erased) stamps of this institution on the title pages. - Plate and text leaf 37, as well as plate 38 of vol. 8, are heavily stained. The copper plates are partly closely cropped at the edges. In parts slightly time-stained, with light finger and dirt stains as well as foxy in places. Endpapers bearing library marks. Overall, well-preserved copies, the copper plates, carefully engraved under the supervision of H. Lips, are of genuine artistic value and mostly display rich, vigorous and fresh colouring.

Framed tickets are shipped exclusively by a shipping company due to the risk of breakage. Postal shipping is only carried out at the express request and risk of the buyer.
