Moderne Literatur und Kunst – Erste und einzige Ausgabe eines der ersten Werke über die Fotomontage in der Werbung. - Bolliger IX, 1031. - Der typographisch hervorragend gestaltete, legendäre Fotoband illustriert Werbebeispiele für verschiedenste Produkte wie Parfüm, Mundwasser, Zigarettenpapier, Fotokamera, Schreibmaschinen, Füllfeder, Radioapparate, Autolampen, Radioröhren etc. In seinem Vorwort "Photographische Reklame" behandelt Péscsi eingehend das wichtige Zusammenspiel zwischen Fotografie und Typografie. "Den Kern der Arbeit liefert stets der Photograph, sein Beitrag ist die eigentliche Quelle der vom Ganzen ausgehenden Anziehung, doch fast ist ihm der Typograph an Bedeutung für die gemeinsame Sache gleich geworden dank den unendlichen Variierungsmöglichkeiten, über die er verfügt in verschieden geformten Lettern, fertigem dekorativen Beiwerk, in Farben und Arrangement" (S. 7). - Am Oberrand mit kleiner Knickspur, ohne Tafeln 14 u. 26.

Modern Literature and Art – The scarce original edition of Jozsef Pesci's influential work on the art of advertising photography and graphic design. The book was one of the earliest works on the subject, and includes magnificently printed b/w photogravure images, bold photomontages and beautiful modernist typography throughout. - (slightly worn, small tear at the top of the spine, some staining, small corner tear on the back cover) - A small crease along the top edge, plates 14 and 26 are missing.
