Santomaso, Giuseppe

Moderne Literatur und Kunst – Eines von 120 nummerierten Exemplaren der Normalausgabe auf Vélin de Rives (Gesamtau- flage 200). - Im Druckvermerk vom Künstler und Autor signiert. - Die Original-Schallplatte mit einer Lesung des Dichters. - Unbeschnittenes, frisches Exemplar.

Modern Literature and Art – An Angle. With 7 signed (6 full-page, 1 double-sheet) original color lithographs by G. Santomaso and 1 loose original record. St. Gallen, Erker Presse, 1972. 8, 1 blank, 6 leaves. Loose sheets in original cover. Folio. Original linen covers with blind-stamped title on the spine and original linen slipcase. - One of Erker Presse’s most significant artist’s books: Ezra Pound’s text was lithographed from his handwritten manuscript and combined with seven color lithographs signed by Giuseppe Santomaso; the record adds an acoustic component to the work. The edition was published in 1972 in a run of 200 numbered copies. Santomaso (1907–1990), one of the most important Italian painters of the postwar avant-garde, collaborated repeatedly with the Erker Presse in St. Gallen; his abstract, color-intensive lithographs enter into a close dialogue with Pound’s poetry here.
