Das Blatt entstand für die Gedenkmappe "Für Joseph Beuys", die Klüser und Schellmann nach Beuys' Tod 1986 herausgaben und für die 30 Künstler aus dem engeren Umfeld des Künstlers eingeladen wurden.

The title refers to the exploration of power, insight and artistic responsibility that has permeated Immendorf's work since the Café Deutschland cycle. The print was created for the commemorative portfolio For Joseph Beuys, which Klüser and Schellmann published following Beuys' death in 1986 and for which 30 artists from the artist's immediate circle were invited to contribute.
