Online - Moderne und zeitgenössische Kunst – Eins von 250 Exemplaren. - Marcelle Cahns geometrische Abstraktion ist das Ergebnis eines Weges, der von der figürlichen Schule bei Eugen Spiro und Lovis Corinth über ein flächiges, kompositorisches Denken à la Vuillard und Denis hin zu puristischer Strenge führt. In der Académie Moderne übertragen Amédée Ozenfant und Fernand Léger ihr die Idee einer reduzierten, "reinen" Formensprache, die auf klaren Konturen, einfachen Volumen und der Ordnung der Fläche beruht. Daraus entwickelt sie ihre charakteristischen weißen Bildgründe mit feinen Linearnetzen und wenigen, präzise gesetzten Farbfeldern, in denen technische Genauigkeit und meditative Ruhe zusammenfinden. In ihren späteren Reliefs und spatiaux setzt sie diese von ihren Lehrern geprägte Geometrie in den Raum fort und transformiert die Lehre der Puristen und Légers in eine sehr persönliche, stille Abstraktion. 1928/29 schloss sie sich den Kreisen der abstrakten Avantgarde an: Sie stellte mit der Gruppe "Cercle et Carré" aus, einem Zusammenschluss von Künstlern wie Piet Mondrian, Wassily Kandinsky, Jean Gorin und Hans Arp, und war ab 1930 auch mit der Gruppe "Abstraction-Création" verbunden.

One of 250 copies. - Marcelle Cahn's geometric abstraction is the result of a journey that leads from the figurative school of Eugen Spiro and Lovis Corinth, through a two-dimensional, compositional approach à la Vuillard and Denis, to purist rigor. At the Académie Moderne, Amédée Ozenfant and Fernand Léger imparted to her the idea of a reduced, "pure" formal language based on clear contours, simple volumes, and the order of the plane. From this, she developed her characteristic white picture grounds with fine linear grids and a few precisely placed color fields, in which technical precision and meditative calm come together. In her later reliefs and spatiaux, she extends this geometry, shaped by her teachers, into three-dimensional space and transforms the teachings of the Purists and Léger into a highly personal, quiet abstraction. In 1928-29, she joined the circles of the abstract avant-garde: she exhibited with the group "Cercle et Carré," an association of artists including Piet Mondrian, Wassily Kandinsky, Jean Gorin, and Hans Arp, and from 1930 onward was also associated with the group "Abstraction-Création."
