Gleichzeitig verweist das von Landschaft und Wetterphänomenen inspirierte Motiv auf seine Idee "abstrakter Landschaften", mit denen er Naturwahrnehmung in ein freies, nicht-figürliches Vokabular übersetzt. Innerhalb der zweiten Schule von Paris und des Art informel, mit denen er häufig in Verbindung gebracht wird, behauptet er damit eine autonome Position zwischen Abstraktion und Figuration. Die Grafik steht somit exemplarisch für sein Bestreben, eine subjektive, poetische Mimesis der Welt zu entwickeln, die ohne strenge Konzepte auskommt und ganz auf Atmosphäre, Bewegung und malerische Freiheit setzt.

One of 90 copies. - With its swirling, dynamic lines and luminous, almost transparent fields of color, this work illustrates Messagier's affinity for lyrical abstraction, in which gesture and emotion play central roles. At the same time, the motif-inspired by landscapes and weather phenomena-refers to his concept of "abstract landscapes," through which he translates the perception of nature into a free, non-figurative vocabulary. Within the Second School of Paris and Art Informel, with which he is frequently associated, he thus asserts an autonomous position between abstraction and figuration. The print thus exemplifies his endeavor to develop a subjective, poetic mimesis of the world that dispenses with rigid concepts and relies entirely on atmosphere, movement, and painterly freedom.
