The sheet is slightly wavy due to the technique used, the reverse shows some traces of studio work. Overall, very good condition. - Private collection, Switzerland. - Following her separation from Picasso, Dora Maar developed a free, abstract visual language in her later work that went beyond Surrealism and drew closer to French Art Informel and Tachism. This piece, with its reduced colour palette, emphasises the gestural quality and materiality of the application and, through its direct, experimental approach, reflects the introspective nature of Maar's late work.
