Lot 72 Heinrich Siepmann. Abstrakte Komposition. 1961. …

Abstrakte Komposition. 1961. Öl auf Leinwand. 48 x 62 cm. Verso signiert und datiert. Im Schattenfugenrahmen. Verso mit weiterer Ölkomposition. - Die Leinwand leicht wellig. Partiell mit leichtem Craquelé. Insgesamt sehr gut. Hervorragendes Werk mit ausdrucksstarken Kontrasten.

Konkrete Kunst – Ullrich 322.

Concrete Art – Oil on canvas. Verso signed and dated. Framed in a shadow-gap frame. Verso with further oil painting. - The canvas is slightly wavy. Some slight craquelure in places. Overall in very good condition. A superb work with striking contrasts. - Ullrich 322. - verso with another image. In the post-war period, Siepmann frequently painted over older works or used their reverse sides for new compositions. The earlier work on the verso probably dates from the early 1950s. Numerous works with similar motifs can be found between 1949 and 1954. - Heinrich Siepmann is one of the leading figures of post-war German abstraction and was a co-founder of the Recklinghausen-based artists' group 'junger westen'. Starting from an early representational style, he developed a clear, constructivist visual language in which geometric order, reduced forms and finely tuned areas of colour come together to form balanced compositions.
