Gerda Henning studiert Anfang der 1940er Jahre an der Hochschule für Kunsterziehung in Berlin bei Willy Jaeckel, Bernhard Dörries und Otto Freytag und später an der Kunstakademie Stuttgart bei Willi Baumeister. Ab den 1960er Jahren wendet sie sich der Abstraktion zu.

The colours are vibrant. - A vibrantly coloured composition rendered in bold strokes, in which the artist creates a dense pictorial space. In the early 1940s, Gerda Henning studied at the Hochschule für Kunsterziehung in Berlin under Willy Jaeckel, Bernhard Dörries and Otto Freytag, and later at the Kunstakademie Stuttgart under Willi Baumeister. From the 1960s onwards, she turned to abstraction.
