Online - Moderne und zeitgenössische Kunst – Das vorliegende massive, quadratisch geformte Stahlgehäuse dient als Behältnis und Display für getrocknete, tief zerfurchte Erde, welche seit einer Afrikareise zentrales Material im Werk von Madeleine Dietz darstellt. Im Wechselspiel von Stahl und Erde entfalten sich gegensätzliche Wirkungen wie fragil und unverwüstlich, von brüchig und glatt, von natürlich und von Menschenhand erschaffen. Die tief gerissene Oberfläche erscheint zugleich als Landschaft und als Zeichen, der Stahlrahmen hält zusammen, was dem Verfall ausgesetzt ist.

Overall, in very good condition. - This solid, square steel enclosure serves as a container and display for dried, deeply furrowed earth, which has been a central material in Madeleine Dietz's work since a trip to Africa. In the interplay between steel and earth, contrasting effects unfold: fragile and indestructible, brittle and smooth, natural and man-made. The deeply fissured surface appears simultaneously as a landscape and as a symbol, the steel frame holds together that which is exposed to decay.
