Rockport. 1920er Jahre. Kohle auf BFK Rives-Velin (mit Wz.). 23,5 x 37,5 cm (28,5 x 40 cm). Signiert. Punktuell auf Unterlage montiert und im Passepartout freigestellt. - Papier dezent gebräunt, an den Rändern und Ecken mit leichten Bestoßungen und Rissen, Papier dezent griffspurig und fleckig. Insgesamt gut.

Amerikanische Moderne

Online - Moderne und zeitgenössische Kunst – Abraham Walkowitz gehört zur ersten Generation Amerikanischer Modernisten. Der russisch-amerikanische Künstlere immigrierte früh von Sibirien in die USA und studierte an der National Academy of Design in New York City und der Académie Julian in Paris bei Jean-Paul Laurens. Mitte der 1920er Jahre schuf Walkowitz eine Vielzahl von Landschaftszeichnungen und Stadtansichten, zu der auch das vorliegende Werk zählt.

Online - Modern and Contemporary Art – Charcoal on BFK Rives-Velin (with watermark). Signed. Partially mounted on a backing board and framed in a passe-partout. - Paper slightly browned, with minor scuffs and tears to the edges and corners, paper shows slight handling marks and staining. Overall in good condition. - Abraham Walkowitz belongs to the first generation of American modernists. The Russian-American artist immigrated from Siberia to the USA at an early age and studied at the National Academy of Design in New York City and the Académie Julian in Paris under Jean-Paul Laurens. In the mid-1920s, Walkowitz produced a large number of landscape drawings and cityscapes, including the present work.
