Lot 56 Imi Knoebel. 3 Arbeiten. Tür und Tor. Aus: …
3 Arbeiten. Tür und Tor. Aus: Sequences. 1998. Je Farbserigraphie mit phosphoriszierenden Pigmenten bzw. Aquatinta auf Rives Velin. Je 40 x 50 cm. Ein Blatt verso signiert und nummeriert. - Insgesamt sehr gut.
- Hg. Edition Schellmann, München/New York.
Concrete Art – Each a colour silkscreen with phosphorescent pigments and aquatint on Rives rag vellum. Each 40 x 50 cm. One sheet signed and numbered on the reverse. - Overall in very good condition. Magnificent impressions of the minimalist, full-frame compositions, with vibrant and fresh colours. - One of 60 copies. - Published by Edition Schellmann, Munich/New York. - Since engaging with the work of Kazimir Malevich, Imi Knoebel has consistently pursued a reduction to the elementary means of painting, comprising form, colour and surface. This three-part work condenses this approach into a serial experimental arrangement: two rectangles, which convey a latent figurativeness through the title, are explored in varying constellations, their relationship to one another and to the picture plane played out in three stages. The use of phosphor pigment lends the rationally constructed pictorial structure a subtle luminosity.
