Online - Moderne und zeitgenössische Kunst – Nach Ende des zweiten Weltkrieges besucht Koenig Kunstkurse an der G.I. University in Biarritz, Frankreich, wo seine ersten Bilder entstehen. Sein Interesse für asiatische Kunst, welches der Vertreter des Abstrakten Expressionismus bereits früh entwickelte, vertieft er bei einem Besuch in Japan im Jahr 1960. In dieser Zeit entsteht auch das vorliegende Werk, dessen Stil der amerikanische Künstler "Koen (Garten)" nennt.

Online - Modern and Contemporary Art – Mixed media with watercolour on Japanese paper. Signed, inscribed with the location and dedicated on the verso. Mounted on a backing board and framed under glass, unopened. - Overall, in very good condition. - After the end of the Second World War, Koenig attended art classes at the G.I. University in Biarritz, France, where he produced his first paintings. His interest in Asian art, which this exponent of Abstract Expressionism developed at an early age, deepened during a visit to Japan in 1960. It was during this period that the present work was created, a style the American artist referred to as 'Koen (Garden)'.
