Goldblatt zählt zu den bedeutendsten Dokumentarfotografen Südafrikas, über Jahrzehnte fotografierte er die soziale und räumliche Ordnung des Apartheidsystems und seiner Nachwirkungen in Form von präzisen, stillen Bestandsaufnahmen.
