Untitled (Detail of Painting), aus: Re-Object/Mythos. 2002/07. Ditone auf Inova-Papier. 31 x 32,3 cm (81 x 61 cm). - Hrsg. v. Edition Schellmann, München/New York für Kunsthaus Bregenz 2007.

Abstract Expresionism – Ditone on Inova paper. Monogrammed and numbered. - Two very slight and hardly visible handling marks in lower margin, all in all very good and impeccably nice. Superb, colour-nuanced impression with wide, at bottom with very wide margin. - One of 45 copies. - After a drypoint. - Published along with the portfolio "Re-Object/Mythos" which was released in conjunction with two exhibitions at the Kunsthaus Bregenz in 2007. Printed by Recom/Ostfildern. -Publ. by Edition Schellmann, Munich/New York for Kunsthaus Bregenz 2007. - Twombly, known for his gestural brushstrokes, vast empty spaces, and an inimitable, nearly illegible scribbling, developed a style in which every line and color possesses inherent energy, spirituality, and meaning. He created works in which personal expression intertwines with mythology, so that narratives, language, and inner visions emerge from his abstract notations. Although a contemporary of Robert Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns, Twombly's artistic practice diverges from American postwar abstraction. While movements such as Pop Art distanced themselves from historical narratives, he explicitly turned to ancient, classical, and modern poetic traditions.
