Zeitgenössische Kunst – Das vorliegende Blatt ist Teil der Serie "Unframed", ein seit 2010 fortlaufendes Projekt des französischen Künstlers, das auf Bildern berühmter oder anonymer Fotografen sowie auf Archivaufnahmen basiert, die JR neu interpretiert und aus ihren ursprünglichen Kontexten herauslöst. 2013 widmete sich JR im Viertel La Belle de Mai in Marseille der Identität des Stadtteils und lädt die Bewohner dazu ein, ihre persönlichen Fotoalben mit ihm zu teilen. Die collagierten Arbeiten verwandeln individuelle Spuren persönlicher Geschichten in sichtbare Zeugnisse der Geschichte und des kollektiven Gedächtnisses von La Belle de Mai.

In 2013, JR focused on the identity of the La Belle de Mai neighborhood in Marseille, inviting residents to share their personal photo albums with him. Through collage and enlargement, these works transform individual traces of personal histories into visible testimonies of the history and collective memory of La Belle de Mai.
