Internationales Postwar – Die vorliegenden, kleinformatigen Werke stehen charakteristisch für das OEuvre Ida Karaskayas der 1960er Jahre, in dem die Technik der Collage für die Künstlerin immer mehr an Bedeutung gewinnt. Die russische Künstlerin verlässt mit 17 Jahren ihre Heimat, um in Ghent und später in Paris auf Wunsch ihrer Eltern Medizin zu studieren. Zunächst im Verborgenen, später auch offiziell, wendet sie sich zunehmend der Kunst zu und avanciert schließlich zu einer der bedeutendsten französischen Künstlerinnen der Zweiten Pariser Schule sowie zu einer wichtigen Vertreterin der informellen Kunstbewegung der 1950er Jahre.

International Postwar – Each mixed media using acrylic and watercolour on vellum. Each signed, with typographic gallery label on the verso of the frame. Each mounted on a backing and framed under glass, 3 x unopened. - Overall, apparently in very good condition. - These small-format works are characteristic of Ida Karaskaya's oeuvre of the 1960s, in which the technique of collage became increasingly significant for the artist. The Russian artist left her homeland at the age of 17 to study medicine in Ghent and later in Paris at her parents' request. Initially in secret, later openly, she turned increasingly to art and eventually became one of the most significant French artists of the Second Paris School, as well as an important representative of the Informel art movement of the 1950s.
