Die letzten Tränen. 1979. Farbholzschnitt auf leichtem Japanbütten. 51,4 x 36,3 cm (60,8 x 41,8 cm). Signiert, datiert "12. Mai 1980", ortsbezeichnet "Wien", mit Werknummer "662 A" und Copyrightzeichen sowie nummeriert. Im Stock oben rechts mit den 13 Farbpunkten, unten links mit dem Titel in Japanisch. Punktuell auf Passepartoutrückseite montiert. - In Außenrändern ganz leicht gegilbt, vereinzelte leichte Griff- oder Knickspur, punktuelle Quteschfalte, Papier in Außenrändern technikbedingt leicht gewellt, ganz punktueller, blasser Braunfleck, insgesamt sehr gut und ausgesprochen schön. Äußerst practhvoller, kontrastreicher und malerische Werte umsetzender Druck mit Rand, allseitig mit dem Schöpfrand.

Mit deren Inkanstempeln. - Hrsg. v. Gruener Janura AG, Glarus/Schweiz. - Vorliegende Arbeit stellt die Zusammenarbeit Hundertwassers mit den japanischen Druckern Okura und Uchikawa dar, kumuliert in einer komplexen gestalterischen Kombination aus fast dreißig Farbmustern und Druckplatten. Sehr eindringlich sind die werkbildenden Elemente zu Papier gebracht: ein frontales Gesicht mit mehreren Augenpaaren, ein in Form angedeutetes Haus mit unzähligen, verschlossenen Fenstern, eingefangen von vertikal fallende Tränen. Sie gleichen einem Muster der Illusion und Verzweiflung, thematisieren das Verschließen vor einer gegenwärtigen, Schwere erzeugenden Lage und rufen zu einem Weckruf auf. Mensch, Haus und Umgebung sind ins Gleichgewicht zu bringen.

Spot-mounted to mat's back. - Very slightly yellowed in outer margins, isolated slight handling or crease marks, isolated pinch pleat, paper slightly buckled due to technique in margins, very isolated, faint brown stain, all in all very good and impeccably nice. Extremely splendid, contrast-rich and picturesque-like impression with margin, deckle edge all around. - One of 200 copies. - After the painting of the same name. - Cut by Kenji Okura Horishi, Tokyo, printed by Matashiro Uchikawa Surichi, ibid. With their inkan stamps. - Publ. by Gruener Janura AG, Glarus/Switzerland. - This work presents Hundertwasser's collaboration with the Japanese printers Okura and Uchikawa, culminating in a complex design combination of nearly thirty color samples and printing plates. The elements that make up the work are rendered on paper with great intensity: a frontal face with multiple pairs of eyes, a house suggested by its outline with countless closed windows, captured by vertically falling tears. They resemble a pattern of illusion and despair, address the act of shutting oneself off from a present situation that creates a sense of heaviness, and serve as a wake-up call. People, houses, and their surroundings must be brought into balance.
