Ostdeutsche Kunst – In der vorliegenden Bildnisstudie setzt Max Uhlig sich mit dem Porträt als einem zentralen Thema seiner künstlerischen Arbeit auseinander und richtet den Fokus auf den Kopf als Ort individueller Präsenz und geistiger Konzentration. Die Darstellung ergibt sich aus einem dichten Geflecht farbiger Linienzüge, die sich kraftvoll überlagern und verschränken. Durch diese linearen Schichtungen entsteht ein komplexes Gefüge, in dem sich physiognomische Strukturen andeuten, ohne jedoch in eine fest umrissene Form überzugehen. Uhlig löst die Linie aus ihrer traditionellen, beschreibenden Funktion und nutzt sie als autonomes, konstitutives Ausdrucksmittel. Das Antlitz der Porträtierten erscheint nicht als statisches Abbild, sondern als ein energetisches Feld, in dem sich die Wahrnehmung des Künstlers materialisiert.

Framed. - Overall in very good condition, fresh and vibrant colors. - In the present portrait, Max Uhlig engages with portraiture as a central theme of his artistic practice, focusing on the head as a site of individual presence and intellectual concentration. The depiction emerges from a dense network of colored linear strokes that overlap and interweave with dynamic force. Through these layered lines, a complex structure takes shape in which physiognomic features are suggested without ever resolving into clearly defined contours. Uhlig liberates the line from its traditional descriptive function and employs it instead as an autonomous, constitutive means of expression. The visage does not appear as a static likeness, but rather as an energetic field in which the artist's perception materializes.
