Ausgangspunkt ist die Geste der Hand: Handdrucke auf Acryl werden zu Zeichen, zu rhythmisch gesetzten Spuren, die zwischen Schreiben und Bild, zwischen Notation und abstraktem Gefüge oszillieren. In diesen Arbeiten verbindet Zangs den physischen Abdruck des Körpers mit einer strengen, beinahe asketischen Ordnung der Fläche - ein Spannungsfeld, das seine Kunst seit den frühen Nachkriegsjahren prägt.
