Splitter für Polen. 1982. Offset-Lithographie auf Arches Velin (mit Wz.). 56 x 29,5 cm (77 x 57,5 cm). Signiert, datiert, betitelt, nummeriert und bezeichnet e.a.. - Ränder gebräunt, im unteren Teil mit Lichtspuren, verso mit blassem Farbfurschlag, Papier minimal gebräunt. Insgesamt gut. Ausgezeichneter, kontrastreicher Druck mit vollem Rand, auf zwei Seiten mit Schöpfrand.

Online - Moderne und zeitgenössische Kunst – Eines von 20 Exemplaren außerhalb der nummerierten Auflage. - Entstanden im Kontext einer Solidaritätsausstellung im Kunstpalast Düsseldorf gegen das Kriegsrecht der Volksrepublik Polen und für die Gewerkschaft Solidarnosc, der Erlös kam polnischen Künstlern zugute. Uecker überträgt sein plastisches Grundmotiv des genagelten Keils ins Medium der Druckgraphik und macht das Blatt zum politischen Bekenntnis.

Mounted in spots in the upper margin on backing. - Very delicately browned in the margins. Clean condition. Splendid and contrasty print with full margins. - One of 20 copies outside the numbered edition. - Created as part of a solidarity exhibition at the Kunstpalast in Düsseldorf against martial law in the People's Republic of Poland and in support of the Solidarnosc trade union, the proceeds went to Polish artists. Uecker transposes his signature sculptural motif of the nailed wedge into the medium of printmaking, transforming the print into a political statement.
