Butin, 11. - Staatsgalerie Stuttgart, A 2016/9264. - Die vorliegende Edition entstammt der Chronik des Kunsthauses Lempertz: Dem Kunsthaus eng verbunden, druckte Richter jüngst die berühmte »Blattecke« erneut: Sie wurde 2015, neben zwei weiteren Graphiken von Gerhard Marcks und HAP Grieshaber, der Chronik des Kunsthauses beigelegt, die in einer Auflage von 3.000 erschienen ist. - Richters Blattecke verdichtet in minimaler Form zentrale Fragen seines Ouvres nach Wahrnehmung, Illusion und Bildwirklichkeit. Die gemalte, scheinbar hochgebogene Ecke erzeugt einen Trompe-l'Oil-Effekt, der zwischen realem Objekt und malerischer Konstruktion oszilliert. In ihrer präzisen, reduzierten Ausführung entfaltet die Arbeit eine stille, zugleich irritierende Präsenz. Sie bewegt sich an der Grenze von Abbild und Abstraktion und verweigert eine eindeutige Lesart. Als selbstreflexiver Kommentar thematisiert Blattecke das Bild zugleich als physisches Objekt und als Täuschung.

Butin, 11. - Staatsgalerie Stuttgart, A 2016/9264. - This edition originates from the Kunsthaus Lempertz chronicle: Closely associated with the Kunsthaus, Richter recently reprinted the famous 'Blattecke': In 2015, alongside two further prints by Gerhard Marcks and HAP Grieshaber, it was included in the Kunsthaus chronicle, which was published in an edition of 3,000. - Richter's Blattecke condenses, in minimalist form, central questions of his oeuvre concerning perception, illusion and pictorial reality. The painted, seemingly upturned corner creates a trompe-l'oil effect that oscillates between real object and pictorial construction. In its precise, reduced execution, the work unfolds a quiet yet unsettling presence. It moves along the boundary between representation and abstraction and defies a clear interpretation. As a self-reflexive commentary, Blattecke addresses the image both as a physical object and as an illusion.
