Zeitgenössische Kunst

Online - Moderne und zeitgenössische Kunst – Je eines von 60 Exemplaren. - Hg. Edition Schellmann, München/New York.

Online - Modern and Contemporary Art – Each colour silkscreen print and offset lithograph on Gohrsmühle vellum, printed on both sides and folded as passe-partouts. Each signed and numbered, and with the publisher's stamp on the reverse. - In very good condition overall. Magnificent, high-contrast prints. - One of 60 copies. - Edited by Edition Schellmann, Munich/New York. - With Chiaroscuro ("light and dark"), Giulio Paolini juxtaposes two versions of the same image: a black spot on a white background, inspired by Picabia's "La Sainte-Vierge" from 1920, and a white spot on a black background, inspired by a photograph of fireworks. The reversal is not merely formal, but programmatic: according to Paolini, each of his works revolves around a blind spot implicit in the image - a mirror that simultaneously reveals and conceals the apparition. The diptych format makes this principle of reflection and reversal the visible structure of the work itself.
