Online - Moderne und zeitgenössische Kunst – Kurt Römhild gehört zu den eigenständigen Positionen der Leipziger Grafik. Nach einer Ausbildung zum Technischen Zeichner studierte er 1953/54 an der Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig bei Bernhard Heisig und Emil Koch und arbeitete anschließend freischaffend als Grafiker und Illustrator. Sein Werk ist von einer abstrahierenden, stark reduzierten Formensprache geprägt. In Zeichnung, Druckgrafik und Mischtechnik verbindet Römhild freie Linienbewegungen, verwischte Tonwerte und sparsam gesetzte farbige Akzente zu offenen, fast kalligrafischen Kompositionen.

An excellent work with fine colour nuances. - Kurt Römhild is one of the leading figures in Leipzig's graphic art scene of the second half of the 20th century. After training as a technical draughtsman, he studied at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig under Bernhard Heisig and Emil Koch in 1953-54, and subsequently worked as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator.
