Philosophische Explication der Farben zu Historien und Heraldic nach d(er) Ordnung des Firmaments, am Himmel, Alexander der erste Monarch aus Gretia, dessen Kräuter, ... den Planeten mit den Edelsteinen, nebst ihren Metallen mit dessen Würckungen, Regierung der Jahr, den Planeten, nebst den Menschlichen Jahren. Kupferstich mit 12 kolorierten Wappenschildern und heraldischen Symbolen. o.O., o.Dr. u. J. (1765). Einblattdruck. Format ca. 40,5 x 24,7 cm.
Alchemie
Naturwissenschaften – Otto Titan von Hefner nennt den Maler Jakob Johann Deuter aus Altdorf als Schöpfer des vorliegenden Blattes, dessen Entstehung er auf 1765 datiert (vgl. Handbuch der theoretischen und praktischen Heraldik. Tl. 1, S. 45). - Erklärt wird die symbolische und astrologische Deutung von Farben, Planeten, Metallen und Edelsteinen und deren Bedeutung in der Heraldik. Dabei werden Planeten spezifische Farben, Elemente, Tugenden, Edelsteine, Metalle und Kräuter zugeordnet. So entspricht z.B. Saturn der Farbe Schwarz, dem Element Erde, dem Metall Blei, der Winterzeit und verkörpert Eigenschaften wie Traurigkeit oder Unglück. - Im unteren Rand mit hs. Vermerk: " Cum Privilegio, universali & Nationale Beurerus Jacobus Johannes, in Academia Altdorffinae ... 1765 ...". - Papierbedingt gebräunt, Blattränder außerhalb des Plattenrandes beschnitten, geglättete zweifache Faltung, Ränder tls. etw. knitterig, kl. Fehlstelle u. winziges Loch im unteren Rand (geringer Buchstabenverlust in der hs. Anm.), sonst wohlerhalten.
Natural Sciences – Alchemy - "Philosophical Explication of Colours in History and Heraldry According to the Order of the Firmament ..." (trans.). Copper engraving with 12 coloured coats of arms and heraldic symbols. Single-sheet print. - Otto Titan von Hefner names the painter Jakob Johann Deuter from Altdorf as the creator of this print, which he dates to 1765 (cf. Handbook of Theoretical and Practical Heraldry, Part 1, p. 45). The symbolic and astrological interpretation of colours, planets, metals, and precious stones and their significance in heraldry are explained. Planets are assigned specific colours, elements, virtues, gemstones, metals, and herbs. For example, Saturn corresponds to the colour black, the element earth, the metal lead, winter, and embodies qualities such as sadness or misfortune. - Handwritten inscription at the bottom: "Cum Privilegio, universali & Nationale Beurerus Jacobus Johannes, in Academia Altdorffinae ... 1765 ...". - Paper browned due to age, sheet edges trimmed outside the plate mark, smoothened double fold, edges slightly creased in places, small loss and tiny hole in the bottom edge, otherwise well preserved.
