3 Werke über seine Sammlung von antken und Renaissance-Plastiken. Mit 7 Tafeln worauf 13 Umrissradierungen, sowie 1 gestochenen montierten Titelvignette auf China, alle von D. Andruzskij nach K. Moldawskij. Sankt Petersburg, 1847-50. 4°. Romantikereinbd. d. Zt. aus grünem Maroquin mit reicher Goldpräg., DTit., der flache Rücken mittels einfachen Fileten in 7 Fächern, die Deckel mittel dreifachen Filetenrahmen und Mittelfeldrahmung aus Bandwerk mit Rocaillen und Voluten, Vorsätze aus rosafarben gestrichenem, geprägtem und gewachstem Papier, umseitiger Goldschnitt (an den Gelenken beschabt, an den Kanten gering bestoßen, vorderer Vorsatz in einer Ecke ergänzt).

Kunstwissenschaften – Eleganter Sammelband mit 3 Werken in Erstausgabe über einige der Plastiken aus der bedeutenden Sankt Petersburger Sammlung von Statuen und Skulpturen von A. R. de Montferrand. - Henri Louis Auguste Ricard de Montferrand (1786-1858), war ein französischer Architekt. 1814 ging er nach Russland, wo er von Zar Alexander I. zum Hofarchitekten ernannt wurde. Zahlreiche zivile und sakrale Bauten im klassizistischen Stil, insbesondere in Sankt Petersburg, aber auch in Moskau und anderen russischen Städten, wurden von ihm geplant und errichtet, darunter sein bedeutendstes Werk, die grandiose Isaakskathedrale. In den 1830er Jahren begann er intensiv römische und griechische antike Statuen und solche der Renaissance zu sammeln. Bei seinem Tod 1858 umfasste seine Sammlung mehr als 110 Statuen und Hunderte kleinerer Artefakte. Nachdem die Eremitage den Ankauf dieser bedeutendsten Antiquitätensammlung des 19. Jahrhunderts in Russland abgelehnt hatte, wurde sie versteigert. - 1. Enthält: Notice sur le Guido-Reni et sur son tableau représentant l'enlèvement de Déjanire (...) Titelbl. in Rot-Schwarz. - Von großer Seltenheit, sowohl im Handel, als auch in institutionellen Beständen. KVK und OCLC/WorldCat weisen jeweils nur drei Exemplare aus. Die HAAB in Weimar besitzt lediglich das 2. der hier zusammengefügten Werke, der dritte Teil wurde 2004 beim großen Brand der Bibliothek zerstört. Auf Auktion für uns nicht nachweisbar. - Die Tafeln jeweils mit Seidenhemdchen gedeckten, diese teils gebräunt und knitterig. Teils etw. stockfleckig, insgesamt gut erhaltenes Kleinod im prächtigen Romantikereinband.

Science of Art – Three first editions on some of the sculptures from the important St. Petersburg collection of statues and sculptures by A. R. de Montferrand, lavishly illustrated with 7 plates containing 13 outline etchings, as well as 1 engraved mounted title vignette on China, all by D. Andruzskij after K. Moldawskij. Bound in a splendid contemporary morroco with rich gold tooling in Romantique style. - Henri Louis Auguste Ricard de Montferrand (1786-1858) was a French architect. In 1814, he went to Russia, where he was appointed court architect by Tsar Alexander I. He designed and built numerous civil and religious buildings in the Neoclassical style, particularly in St. Petersburg, but also in Moscow and other Russian cities, including his most important work, the magnificent St. Isaac's Cathedral. In the 1830s, he began to intensively collect Roman and Greek antique statues and those of the Renaissance. At his death in 1858, his collection comprised more than 110 statues and hundreds of smaller artifacts. After the Hermitage declined to purchase this most important collection of antiquities of the 19th century in Russia, it was auctioned. - 1. KVK and OCLC/WorldCat each list only three copies. The HAAB in Weimar possesses only the second of the works assembled here, he third part was destroyed in the great library fire of 2004. We have not been able to trace it at auction. - The plates are each covered with silk tissues, some of which are browned and creased. Some parts are slightly foxed, overall, a well-preserved gem in a magnificent Romantic binding.
