Moderne Literatur und Kunst – Eins von 36 Exemplaren der Vorzugsausgabe mit je zwei Druckzuständen. - Enthält: Addendum mit Subskriptionsprospekt, inklusive zwei Radierungen. - Unter der künstlerischne Leitung des französischen Künstlers Édouard Chimot fertigte Sylvain Sauvage für diese Sonderausgabe des Romans von Henri de Regnier 20 Illustrationen an, welche jeweils im ersten und zweiten Zustand enthalten sind. Während die ersten Zustände je mit einer Remarque in der Platte gedruckt und unkoloriert gelassen wurden, überzeugen die Drucke des zweiten Zustands durch ihre farbprächtige Koloration. Die insgesamt 41 Aquatinta-Radierungen beinhalten ebenfalls den ersten Zustand des Titelblattes. Des Weiteren fertigte Sauvage 27 Holzstiche an, welche in brauner Farbe gedruckt wurden. - Der kunstvoll angefertigte Einband in leuchtender oranger Farbe mit verschiedenen farbigen Sprenkeleinlagen wurde von dem französischen Buchbinder Manuel Gérard angefertigt. - Abklatsch der Radierungen. Insgesamt ein sehr gutes Exemplar mit prachtvollem Einband.

Orange marocco with colorful sprinkle inlays and gilt stamped title and further sprinkle inserts. Marbled moiré endpapers with green inner edge fillets. Two-sided deckle edges with gilt edges. Original paper cover on Japan Bound in. In lined slipcase. Signed: Manuel Gérard. - One of 36 copies of the special edition, each with two states of printing. - Contains: Addendum with subscription prospectus, including two etchings. - Under the artistic direction of the French artist Édouard Chimot, Sylvain Sauvage created 20 illustrations for this special edition of the novel by Henri de Régnier, each included in both the first and second states. While the first states were printed with a remarque in the plate and left uncolored, the prints of the second state impress with their vibrant coloring. The total of 41 aquatint etchings also includes the first state of the title page. Furthermore, Sauvage produced 27 wood engravings, which were printed in brown ink. - The artfully crafted binding in bright orange with various colored sprinkle inlays was made by the French bookbinder Manuel Gérard. - Overall a very good copy with a splendid binding.
