Moderne Literatur und Kunst – Mouraud war ein französischer Modeillustrator mit Atelier in Paris (1bis rue Riboutté), der Gouache auf Canson-Papier einsetzte. Die unmittelbare Referenzgruppe für Mourauds Stil sind die Hauptillustratoren der Gazette du Bon Ton (1912-1925): Paul Iribe, George Barbier, Georges Lepape, Charles Martin, André Marty, Bernard Boutet de Monvel und Pierre Brissaud. Diese Gruppe definierte den Standard der Pariser Modeillustration und arbeitete primär mit Pochoir - einer elaborierten Schablonendrucktechnik, die jeder Seite eine fast malerische Qualität verliehKunsthistorisch passen sie in den Art Déco, der ab 1910 Moderne, Geometrie und Luxus vereinte. Paris, ca. 1925-30. - Mouraud was a French fashion illustrator with a studio in Paris (1bis rue Riboutté) who worked in gouache on Canson paper. The immediate reference group for Mouraud's style are the principal illustrators of the Gazette du Bon Ton (1912-1925): Paul Iribe, George Barbier, Georges Lepape, Charles Martin, André Marty, Bernard Boutet de Monvel, and Pierre Brissaud. This group defined the standard of Parisian fashion illustration and worked primarily with pochoir - an elaborate stencil-printing technique that lent each page an almost painterly quality. Art-historically, they belong to Art Déco, which from 1910 onward united modernity, geometry, and luxury. The high-contrast black-and-white as well as the bold primary colors recall the simultaneous fabric prints of Sonia Delaunay and the geometric embroideries employed by Maison Vionnet and Jeanne Paquin for their evening gowns. Accessories such as asymmetrically draped bags and narrow-cut pumps - refined by houses like Hermès and the early shoe ateliers of the Marais - complete the ensemble not merely as adornment but as an expression of a new female freedom of movement, while at the same time attesting to the function of these designs as precise advertising instruments for Parisian haute couture. In places, small accompanying sketches at the image margins show cut details as separate miniature drawings - typical of technical fashion illustrations. An impressive collection of high quality.
