Vorzugsausgabe hors commerce von 15 Exemplaren und besonderes Verlegerexemplar zunächst in der Ausstattung der 25 Vorzugsexemplare auf Hollande van Gelder hier jedoch bei 7 Tafeln mit einer vierten Graphik in der Extrasuite. - Aus der Sammlung Claude Chalanson (Ex Libros). - Xantis ist eine illustrierte Sammlung von vier symbolistischen Erzählungen des französischen Dichters Albert Samain (1858-1900). Sie thematisieren Liebe in vielfältigen Formen: sentimental, sinnlich, hingebungsvoll oder besessen. Samains poetischer Stil verbindet Feinstofflichkeit mit mystischer Sinnlichkeit. - Die Radierungen von Sylvain Sauvage in Albert Samains Contes (1926) sind eindrucksvoll ausgeführt in Farbe, Décomposition (Farbzerlegung), Rötel/Sanguine und Schwarz und gelten als Meisterwerk seiner Art-Déco-Periode. Prachtvoller Meistereinband in der Nachfolge von Pierre Legrain, Rose Adler, Henri Creuzevault oder Georges Mercier. - Sehr selten.

And half leather (suite) Signed: JVA. - Copy signed by Sylvain Sauvage to his publisher Pierre Bouchet. Special edition hors commerce of 15 copies and special publisher's copy, initially in the style of the 25 special copies on Hollande van Gelder, but here with 7 plates and a fourth graphic in the extra suite. - From the Claude Chalanson collection (Ex Libros). - Xantis is an illustrated collection of four symbolist stories by the French poet Albert Samain (1858-1900). They deal with love in its many forms: sentimental, sensual, devoted, or obsessive. Samain's poetic style combines subtlety with mystical sensuality. - The etchings by Sylvain Sauvage in Albert Samain's Contes (1926) are impressively executed in color, décomposition (color separation), red chalk/sanguine, and black, and are considered masterpieces of his Art Deco period. Magnificent master binding in the tradition of Pierre Legrain, Rose Adler, Henri Creuzevault, and Georges Mercier. - Very rare.
