Moderne Literatur und Kunst – Bücherreihe Die Architektur. - Erste Ausgabe, selten. - Alfred Gerschel war ein Vertreter des "Neuen Bauens" und hatte einen bedeutenden Einfluss auf die Architektur in Berlin, insbesondere in den 1920er und 1930er Jahren. Seine Arbeiten trugen zur Entwicklung des modernen Wohnungsbaus in der Stadt bei. Gerschel war bekannt für seine funktionalen und ästhetisch ansprechenden Entwürfe, die oft in Wohnhausgruppen und Wohnblöcken umgesetzt wurden. Einige seiner bemerkenswerten Projekte, wie die Wohnhausgruppen in Berlin-Wilmersdorf und die Wohnblöcke in der Schlangenbader Straße, sind heute als Kulturdenkmale anerkannt.
