Erklärung eines alten Kleinodien-Kästleins aus dem Ebnerischen Cabinete zu Nürnberg, worauf die Verlöbniß Heinrichs Hertzogen von Sachsen (...) mit Agnesen Pfältzis. Erb-Princeßin vorgestellet ist, dadurch auch einiger massen die Braunschweig-Lüneburgische Historie nebst einigen alten dahin gehörigen Müntzen, erläutert wird. Mit 3 Kupfertafeln, wovon 1 gefaltet, 1 Textkupfer, sowie 1 belebten Initiale, 1 Zierleiste und 1 Vignette im Holzschnitt. Nürnberg, Monath 1725. 4 Bl., 56 S. Mod. ADB V, 627 ff. - Beschreibung des Würzburger Historikers und Bibliothekars Johann Georg von Eckhart (auch Eccart, 1674-1730) über vermutlich gotischen "Minnekästchens", eine Miniaturtruhe zur Aufbewahrung von Dokumenten, Liebeszeugnissen und Reliquien, enstammend dem Kunstkabinett der Nürnberger Patrizierfamilie Ebner. Die Abhandlung mit einem großen Faltkupfer mit Abbildungen der der Bemalung der Truhe, die beiden anderen Tafeln und das Textkupfer mit Münzen. - Erste Lage gleichmäßig leicht gebräunt, Falttafel und hinterer Vorsatz etw. wasserrandig, insgesamt wohlerhaltenes Exemplar des Kuriosums.

History – First and only edition of an account on a medieval object of curiosity, profusely illustrated with 3 copper-engraved plates, of which 1 folding. Neatly bound in modern cardboard covered with paste paper. - For references see above. - Description by the Würzburg historian and librarian Johann Georg von Eckhart (1674-1730) of a presumably Gothic "love casket," a miniature chest for storing documents, love tokens, and relics, originating from the art collection of the Nuremberg patrician family Ebner. The treatise includes a large folded engraved plate depicting the chest's painted decoration, the two other plates and the text engraved text illustration show coins. - First leaf evenly lightly browned, folding plate and rear endpaper somewhat water-stained, overall a well-preserved example of this curious booklet.
