RTitel (leicht bestoßen, stellenw. berieben, Buntpapier in den Rändern tls. gebräunt u. an 1 kl. Stelle gelöst).
Philosophie und Soziologie – Neudruck, 2. verb. Aufl. - "A towering figure in the epistemology, logic, and methodology of the first half of the nineteenth century" (Encyclopedia of Philosophy I, 338). NDB 21 (2003), S. 243f. - 1 Titel gering braunfleckig, sonst dekoratives Exemplar in wohlerhaltenem Zustand.
Philosophy and Sociology – Reprint, 2nd revised edition of Bolzano's masterpiece. Marbled half morocco on 4 raised bands (Imprimerie-Reliure H. Ney-Eicher Esch-Alzette) with coloured top edge and gilt stamped title to spines (slightly bumped, rubbed in places, coloured paper in the margins partly browned and detached in one small area). - Discontent with Kant's talk of distinction between form and matter had made Bolzano doubtful of the possibility of drawing any clear line between the two. He wished to separate logic from psychology and rhetoric and to insist that possibility is not to be confused with conceivability, but he thought that logic must take account of the different ways in which we come to knowledge and that it could not consist solely of analytic truths, as those conceived by Kant, since such truths would not be important enough to make a science. - With ownership inscription by philosopher and theologian Marcel Reding (1914-1993). - One title with minor brown spots, otherwise a decorative copy in good condition.
