V, 340 - Born war 5 Jahre Mitglied im Jesuitenorden und Mitglied von Adam Weishaupts Illuminatenordens. 1770 war er in der Freimaurerloge Zu den drei gekrönten Säulen in Prag aufgenommen worden, 1781 wurde er Mitglied und am 9. März 1782 Meister vom Stuhl der Wiener Loge Zur wahren Eintracht. Als|Führer der Freimaurer in Wien spielte er eine bedeutende gesellschaftliche Rolle im Zeichen der Aufklärung. B. ist der "Sarostro" der Zauberflöte. "Von dieser Einstellung ist seine temperamentvolle, wenig delikate Satire "Specimen Monachologiae" (1783) gegen die Klöster beherrscht, die in antiklerikalen Kreisen große Verbreitung erfuhr" (NDB). - Gelegentlich etwas fleckig, insgesamt gutes Exemplar.
