Buchwesen - Faksimileausgaben – Eins von 2400 arabisch nummerierten Exemplaren (GA 2460). - Ursprünglich wurde das Werk um 1460 in Italien für Lodovico Gonzaga geschaffen. Im Jahre 1515 wurde es mit prächtigen, farbigen und goldgeschmückten Illustrationen ausgestattet. Das Tierbuch von Candidus zählt zu den schönsten und zugleich wichtigsten naturwissenschaftlichen Buchillustrationen des 15. Jahrhunderts. Enthalten sind Abbildungen von 450 teils exotischen Tierarten wie Nashörnern, Raubkatzen, aber auch Fabelwesen wie Phönixe und Einhörner werden dargestellt. - Sehr gutes, nahezu verlagsfrisches Exemplar.

Gilt-embossed red orig. leather and canvas with gilt spine title. - One of 2400 Arabic numbered copies (total ed. 2460). - Originally the work was created around 1460 in Italy for Lodovico Gonzaga. In 1515 it was enriched with magnificent, colorful and gold embellished illustrations. The animal book of Candidus is one of the most beautiful and at the same time most important natural science book illustrations of the 15th century. Included are illustrations of 450 partly exotic animal species such as rhinos, felines but also mythical creatures such as phoenixes and unicorns are depicted. - Near mint copy.
