Buchwesen – Erste und einzige Ausgabe eines bedeutenden bibliographischen Dokuments zur Rechtsliteratur. - Nicht in Krieg, Bibliotheca Bibliographica. - Katalog eines Teils der bedeutenden Sammlung zur Rechtsgeschichte eines der führenden deutschen Juristen des 19. Jahrhunderts, Carl Friedrich von Savigny (1779-1861). Savigny war Professor der Jurisprudenz, Mitglied des Preußischen Staatsrats und Staatsminister für Gesetzesrevision (1842-48). Er gilt als Begründer der deutschen Historischen Rechtsschule. - Der in vorliegendem, nach Drucken bzw. Handschriften und dann thematisch gegliedertem, Katalog verzeichnete Teil seiner bedeutenden Bibliothek wurde der königlichen Bibliothek zu Berlin geschenkt. Er umfasst 466 Druckwerke, zumeist Inkunabeln, und 46 Handschriften aus dem 10. bis 16. Jahrhundert. - Vereinzelt mit kl. Stockfleckchen und Eselsohren, sonst sehr sauberes Exemplar dieses Rarissimums.
Books on Books, History of Paper and Typography – First and only edition of a significant bibliographical document on legal literature. - Not in Krieg, Bibliotheca Bibliographica. - Catalogue of part of the important collection on legal history belonging to one of the leading German jurists of the 19th ct., Carl Friedrich von Savigny (1779-1861). Savigny was Professor of Jurisprudence, a member of the Prussian State Council, and Minister of State for Legislative Revision (1842-48). He is considered the founder of the German Historical School of Law. - The portion of his important library documented in this catalogue, organised by prints and manuscripts, and then by subject matter, was donated to the Royal Library in Berlin. It comprises 466 printed works, mostly incunabula, and 46 manuscripts from the 10th to the 16th centuries. - A few small foxing spots and dog-eared pages, otherwise a very clean copy of this rare item.
