Gothic Textura Quadrata. France or Germany, 14th century (ca. 1320-1380). Contains verses from Psalm 34 (35) of the Vulgate: Verse 26: "Let those who rejoice in my misfortunes be put to shame and fear, let those who speak arrogantly against me be clothed with confusion and fear." - The second section, introduced by the large initial "P," begins with the words "Nos autem gloriari oportet in cruce Domini"-the famous Introit for Holy Thursday (Missa in Cena Domini), based on Galatians 6:14 and Psalm 66.
