Verkündigung an Maria mit Darstellung des Sündenfalls. Ca. 1520. Metallschnitt auf Pergament. 15 x 9 cm. Verso mit lateinischem Text aus einer marianischen Liturgie ("De septem festivitatibus beatae Mariae virginis"), in gotischer Textura, rubriziert sowie mit farbiger Lombarde und floraler Bordüre, wohl aus einem liturgischen Codex.

Manuskripte und Urkunden – Privatsammlung, Norddeutschland. - Kleinformatiger Metallschnitt auf Pergament, der eine theologisch erweiterte Darstellung der Verkündigung an Maria zeigt. Zu sehen sind der Engel Gabriel, der vom Schriftband "Ave gratia plena" begleitet wird, sowie im Hintergrund Adam und Eva als Verweis auf den Sündenfall. Die Komposition verbindet somit die Annuntiato mit einem heilsgeschichtlichen Deutungszusammenhang: Maria erscheint als "neue Eva", durch deren Auserwählung die Überwindung der Erbsünde eingeleitet wird. Mit der linearen Raumkonstruktion, der feinen Schraffurführung und der architektonischen Rahmung entspricht das Blatt der frühen Metallschnitttradition der Zeit und dokumentiert die Verbindung von spätmittelalterlicher Handschriftenkultur und frühneuzeitlicher Druckgraphik im Umfeld intensiver marianischer Frömmigkeit. - Beigegeben: Hl. Joseph mit Jesuskind. Um 1700. Radierung auf Velin. - Punktuell unter Passepartout montiert und hinter Glas gerahmt. - Pergament altersbedingt zart braunfleckig sowie leicht gewellt, partiell leicht verblasst, verso mit punktuellen Fleckchen, Ränder teilw. leicht unregelmäßig. Insgesamt sehr gut.

Verso with Latin text from a Marian liturgy ("De septem festivitatibus beatae Mariae virginis"), in Gothic textura, rubricated and with coloured Lombard and floral border, probably from a liturgical codex. Mounted in places under passe-partout and framed behind glass. - Parchment with delicate brown spots and slight warping due to age, partially slightly faded, verso with occasional slightly irregular edges. Overall very good. - Private collection, Northern Germany. - Small-format metal cut on parchment depicting a theologically expanded representation of the Annunciation to Mary. The angel Gabriel is shown accompanied by the scroll bearing the words "Ave gratia plena", with Adam and Eve in the background as a reference to the Fall of Man. The composition thus links the Annunciation with a salvific historical context: Mary appears as the "new Eve", whose election marks the beginning of the overcoming of original sin. With its linear spatial construction, fine hatching and architectural framing, this early metal cut is typical of its time and documents the connection between late medieval manuscript culture and early modern printmaking in the context of intense Marian devotion. - Accompanied by: St Joseph with the infant Jesus. Circa 1700. Etching on vellum.
