Got. Typ. 130G u. 62G. 60 Zl. Durchgehend rubriziert mit vierzeiligen, teils mit Rändelwerk verzierten Lombarden in Rot, Silberfarbe und Blau und mit großer Druckermarke im Holzschnitt (Bl. PP7r). 8°. Kalbldr. im Stil der Spätgotik auf drei Bünden über Holzdecken mit Deckelblindprägung mittels Plattenpressung, Streicheisen und Stempel, diese mittels dreifachen Linien in drei Felder gegliedert, wovon das oberste als Querstreifen mit Inschrift "O. Imbroli" in gotischer Type, ein Mittelstück aus mit dreifachen Linien doppelt eingerahmtem und mit Blütenstempeln umgebenem Flechtwerk teils mit Punktlinien, das von einem inneren Rahmen aus Ranken- und Blütenwerk und einem äußeren aus Bandwerk mit Lilien eingefasst wird (Beschläge fehlen, Vorderdecke mit kleinen Bezugsfehlstellen, beschabt, Rücken und Hinterdeckel restauriert).

PP7r mit Kolophon und darunter dem großen Holzschnitt-Druckersignet von Scotto, PP7v mit dem Register (Husung, Druckerzeichen 198). - Die ersten Lagen im Innen- und Fußsteg mit kleinem Wasserrand und mitunter etw. fingerfleckig, Schnitt fleckig und angestaubt, Decken und wenige Bll. unbedeutend wurmstichig, sonst wohlerhaltenes Exemplar dieses elegant in zwei Spalten mit breitem Rand auf voluminösem Papier gesetzen Wiegendrucks, die Lombarden teils mit äußerst schmwungvollem, ausgreifendem Rändelwerk.

Prints before 1600, Bibles, Classics in Original Languages – Incunabula. - Fifth edition of the collection of Lenten sermons by Ambrose of Spiera, lavishly rubricated with lombardic initals in red, blue and silvercolour throughout. Bound in a splendig gothic style contemporary calf with rich blind embossing, spine and rear board renewed. - For references see above. - The work is divided into 45 "sermones", which the Servite monk Ambrose (1413-56) had also delivered to his fellow brothers in the monastery of San Marcello in Rome. - Fol. PP7r with colophon and the large wood-cut printer's mark of Scotto below (Husung, printer's mark 198), PP7v with index. - The first sheets in the inner and tail margins with small water-stains and occasionally some finger-stains, covers and a few leaves with insignificant wormholes, edges somewhat soiled and slightly dusty, otherwise well-preserved copy of this elegant incunabula set in two columns and with wide margins on voluminous paper, the initals partly with extensive decoration.
