Titelbl. u. des Front., "... fast ebenso selten wie die nahezu unauffindbaren Quartausgabe.") - Titeldruck in Rot und Schwarz. Das Frontispiz mit Kurztitel, Verlagsangabe und lebendiger Darstellung zahlreicher Vögel. Die meist mit erklärenden Texten versehenen, halbseitigen Kupfer vorwiegend mit Motiven zur Vogelfängerei, eine ganzseitige Abbildung mit der Darstellung einer Frau mit zwei Vögeln bei einem Dressurakt. - Buchblock im Zuge der Neubingung stärker beschnitten, dadurch teils vollständiger Kopf- und Fußzeilenverlust, u.a. bei Frontispiz und Titel. Einige Seiten lose, teils mit Wasserrändern, gering gebräunt und leicht braunfleckig, die Spiegel etwas stärker. Vorderer Vorsatz mit Annotation eines Vorbesitzers. - Provenienz: Ludwig Sentscher, Minoritenmönch, mit dessen gestoch. Ex Libris auf dem Frontispiz-Bl. recto "P. Ludovici Sentscher, Ord. Min. Conv. de Veistrizio. - Angebunden: Helmhard, Wolff, Freiherr von Hochberg: Waidmannschafft Durchs gantze Jahr. Mit vogelgezierten Titelvignette im Holzschnitt. O.O., Dr., 1707. 62 S. Der Aufbau des Werks folgt saisonalen Vogeljagden. - Lage d (Ss. 49-62) durch starken Beschnitt mit Textverlust, d8 beschädigt mit mehreren Seiten Textverlust. - Insgesamt ein solides Exemplar dieses ausnehmend seltenen, sammelwürdigen Titels, für uns auf Auktionen der letzten 30 Jahre in nur einem weiteren Exemplar nachweisbar (1999).

Varia and Miscellaneous – Fourth, strongly enlarged and at the same time first legitimate edition of the extremely rare book on bird catching and training, profusely illustrated with 1 engraved frontispiece, 12 copper engravings on 11 plates as well as several head- and tail-pieces, decorative borders and wood-cut initials. Rebound in the late 19th ct. with a neat full calf binding. - VD18 12203564. - Schwerdt II, p. 65. - Linder, 11.1592.04 (with illustration of the title page and frontispiece, '... almost as rare as the virtually untraceable quarto edition.') - Title printed in red and black. The frontispiece with short title, publisher's details and lively depiction of numerous birds. The half-paged copperplate engravings, most of which are accompanied by explanatory texts, mainly feature motifs relating to bird catching, with one full-paged illustration depicting a woman with two birds during a training act. - Book block trimmed more heavily during rebinding in late 19th ct., resulting in partial loss of headers and footers, including on the frontispiece and title page. Some pages loose, some with light water stains, slightly browned and slightly brown-spotted, the paste-downs somewhat stronger. Front endpaper with annotation by a previous owner. - Provenance: Ludwig Sentscher, Minorite monk, with his engraved ex libris on the frontispiece recto "P. Ludovici Sentscher, Ord. Min. Conv. de Veistrizio. - With: Helmhard, Wolff, Freiherr von Hochberg: Waidmannschafft Durchs gantze Jahr. With woodcut title vignette depicting two birds. S.a., s.t., 1707. 62 p. The structure of the work follows seasonal bird hunting. - Sheet d (pp. 49-62) heavily trimmed with loss of text, leaf d8 damaged with loss of text on several pages. - Overall a solid copy of this extremely rare and highly collectible book, only one other copy traceable for us at auctions during the last 30 years. (1999).
